SHARK Speed Plus
The Speed Plus 14’0” x 30” x 5” is skillfully engineered for lighter riders seeking a board built for stability and speed, whether for racing or high-cadence, long-distance paddling sessions. Its 30” width allows taller riders to achieve a natural ‘straight down paddle stroke’, minimising over-reach and delivering an exceptional combination of stability and speed within a race touring board.
The 5” thickness positions lighter riders perfectly at the waterline, avoiding the over-buoyancy issues that can be particularly problematic on windy days. The board’s lower volume ensures it sits fully within the waterline, enhancing speed and shaving off those critical seconds during performance paddling. Additionally, it is easy to carry, with an easy to reach central handle and a thickness that fits comfortably under the arm.

The Speed range is part of the Plus series, designed for riders who are fully focused on speed. Whether paddleboard racing, cadence training, or simply enjoying the thrill of fast paddling, these boards deliver high-performance speed every time.
The Speed range of boards is designed to provide individual board size options. Available in 14’0”, the Speed boards also come in several width options, 24, 26” and 28” designed for shorter riders, and riders wanting extra speed. And 30” and 32” for added stability. Additionally, these boards are available in 5” or 6” thickness, catering to different rider weight needs. The 5” thickness provides lighter riders with a race board that offers lower buoyancy, while the 6” thickness ensures heavier riders get the stiffness and reduced flex required for higher weight limits.
The Speed Plus series of boards features advanced paddleboard innovation, refined for optimal performance to give racers every advantage possible. Constructed with high-density, 1000-denier, double-laminated woven drop stitch and combined with a high-performance carbon triple rail edge and 3K carbon stringers top and bottom, these features contribute to a 35% flex reduction.
The Speed is designed with multi-use D-rings, making this race board not only a strong contender for race wins, but also capable of transforming into an adventure tourer by expanding the cargo area and adding portage handles.
The Speed Plus features a patented Carbon Nose Cone, which, when paired with the flat rocker design, water release rail, and a kickpad for mastering step-back turns and advanced manoeuvres, delivers exceptional forward motion precision. These elements work in harmony to enhance glide and speed, allowing the board to move effortlessly through the water.
The Speed features our patented Smart-Tec fin and finbox, making it easy for first-time paddlers to simply ‘click’ and go. As skills progress, the system also provides a wide variety of universal (US) fin options for added versatility and performance. The fin is also designed to allow the board to be rolled up with ease.

Why is Woven Fabric Lighter than Knitted Fabric (Fusion)? The ‘weave’ of woven fabric not only creates high tensile strength, making the board stiffer, but the weave is also flatter. This flatness reduces the bumps for the laminate to fill, minimising the amount of laminate used. Since the laminate significantly contributes to weight (which is why double-glued boards are considerably heavier, as they include laminate, glue, and another laminate layer), woven fabric effectively reduces overall weight. i | Triple Rail Edge with Welded Rail TechnologyThe Shark SUP’s triple rail brings numerous design advancements. When combined with all the other Shark SUP’s Tec innovations, the paddling experience becomes incredible. The triple rail edge on Shark SUP’s is integrated with welded rail technology. What Does This Mean? On Shark SUP’s, the triple rail edge design (the top and bottom of the board) extends around to the side rail, almost touching. The top and bottom sheets (top and bottom of the board) are then heat-welded together with the first rail edge (no glue is used in this process). This rounded connection on the side rail significantly increases stiffness, reduces flex, and optimises rigidity. It also creates a C curve, allowing the board to sit lower in the water, enhancing its performance, which is especially noticeable in windy conditions. To enhance the durability of the rail edge, the process is completed by using environmentally safe glue (toluene-free) to bond a 1000-denier rail edge over the welded rail. Why Is a Rail Edge Glued Over the Welded Rail? The welded rail creates a bond that cannot come undone through seam failure due to heat (for example, on a hot day). However, the weld only bonds the first rail edge of the board. To further protect the edge of the board, a second rail is added. To protect it to an even higher level, the rail is made from 1000 denier substrate. By using this high-quality substrate, the rail edge and board gains additional stiffness and reduced flex. Close |
