Board Construction Advancements
Our commitment to ethical visibility means you know exactly what you’re getting when you choose a Shark SUPs board. We offer 3 types of advanced construction: 1000 Denier Double Laminated Knitted (DLK) and 1000 Denier Double Laminated Weave (DLW) and 1000 Denier Laminated Weave (LW). All three constructions are designed to deliver exceptional stiffness, durability, and performance.
Knitted Technology - DLK
Shark SUPs boards in the Flow range of boards are built with 1000 denier double-laminated knitted technology, delivering the perfect blend of stiffness, durability, and performance. The board is made from 1000 denier knitted substrate fabric on the top and bottom of the board, attached to a 1000 denier dropstitch core, and reinforced with a thick premium laminate over the substrate. This advanced construction allows the board to withstand over 20 PSI of pressure, ensuring excellent rigidity and a stable ride underfoot. The DLK construction provides a durable, high-performance board that suits a wide range of paddlers, from casual enthusiasts to dedicated adventurers.
Weave Technology - DLW + LW
For those seeking enhanced performance, Shark SUPs Plus range features 1000 denier double-laminated weave technology. The woven fabric used in the substrate (the top and bottom layers of the board) is attached to a 1000 denier dropstitch core and reinforced with a thick premium laminate. The result is a board that can also handle over 20 PSI of pressure but offers greater stiffness and a lighter weight than knitted materials. The woven construction provides a more responsive, high-performance ride, ideal for paddlers who crave precision and speed.
While the woven material offers superior performance, it is also more expensive to produce, which is why it features in our premium Plus range. This allows us to offer two ranges of boards, giving you the freedom to choose the construction that best suits your performance goals and budget.
